
At Fera Academy, we offer a variety of disciplines in Martial Arts. We mainly teach 1 on 1 private lessons online but also teach in person at Temple Hills, MD. We train our artists in Taekwondo, Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Haedong Kumdo, and a few others disciplines. To complete the training of the mind and body, we also utilize: calisthenics, yoga, breathwork, and meditation, to cultivate a well-rounded and resilient body and mind. This transformative training regimen is designed to help individuals achieve peak physical and mental performance while fostering a deep sense of well-being and inner harmony.
We approach Martial Arts from the source. Creating a grounded, calm, yet able martial artists requires training various aspects on top of martial techniques. Here is a deeper look at our philosophy and training style.
Training Program
1. Martial Arts: Fera Academy incorporates martial arts techniques into its training curriculum to enhance physical fitness, self-defense skills, and discipline. Participants will learn martial arts forms that improve balance, coordination, and agility while also instilling mental fortitude. Each class focuses on one specific style although we train all styles in order to create a well balanced martial artists. Our program focuses on developing techniques through repetition and self awareness. Through masterful guidance of our instructors, you are shown the door to your potential.

Our program is tailored to fit the needs of the individual. Every student learns differently and has different goals. Through our program, we achieve these desires through dynamic training paths in our private lessons. In group lessons, we are more limited to tailoring the training to each individual.
2. Calisthenics: Bodyweight exercises and calisthenics play a crucial role in building strength, endurance, and functional fitness. Fera Academy’s program includes a range of bodyweight workouts tailored to each individual’s fitness level, ensuring gradual progress and optimal results. We train our bodies to withstand and deliver impacts, increasing mobility, and strength. All of these factors increase the ability to act in a self defense situation allowing us to further utilize and expand our skillsets. This also increases our mobility bringing benefits to everyday life in getting out of a chair, running, and other activities.
3. Stretching: Flexibility is a cornerstone of this training program. Regular stretching sessions not only increase flexibility but also reduce the risk of injury. Participants will experience improved mobility and posture, allowing them to move with greater ease and fluidity. These longer muscles facilitate higher kicks and easier movements when learning new strikes. It also helps increase blood flow and increase the level of relaxation by removing tension in the muscles.
4. Breathwork: Focused breathwork techniques are integrated into the training to enhance lung capacity, oxygenate the body, and reduce stress. Learning to control and deepen one’s breath aids in achieving mental clarity, heightened focus, and overall relaxation. These practices are extremely important in learning to manage our emotions. Through our mindful breathwork training, we teach our martial artists to gain a control of the most important thing, themselves. We train various breathing techniques for different situations. Through out program, you will learn which one fits where.
5. Meditation: Mindfulness and meditation are central components of the Mind, Body, and Spirit Training. Regular meditation practices promote mental resilience, emotional balance, and increased concentration. Participants develop a greater sense of self-awareness and learn to manage stress effectively. Practicing single pointed focus in our meditation increases our awareness, calmness, and increases our neural plasticity. Through meditation we may further our knowing of ourselves helping our understanding grow. Instilling endless calm through the river of chaos that is life, our meditation caries us where no other tools can. It is very difficult at first, but if you keep going, it becomes something you want to do.

What’s the point in learning this stuff if you can’t use it anywhere. After a long stressful day, training offers a healthy release of that energy creating a channel for emotions to be released while actively learning. A healthy outlet is important when life becomes too much. The training creates a connection between the tools as well making it easier for us to use them when we really need them. Ex. Breathing deep during emotional moments.
- Inner Balance: Mind, Body, and Spirit Training fosters a sense of inner peace and balance, enabling individuals to approach life with a calmer, more centered perspective. These effects are usually not immediate as they take a few months to a year to set in depending on training level and commitment. The small effects start compounding until greater change is noticed. In these great changes, we realize we’ve become an entirely new person.
